Moon Milk (the extra strong Jupiter Neptune Edition, aka the knock out champ!)

I’m sharing this recipe here as so many people responded to the original post on social media. It’s kind of funny the presumptions that we make … I always think that everyone knows all about moon milk and the many different versions possible yet, as I found out recently - that simply isn’t the case!

Following - my original post:

Hey there ~ the Moon is full tomorrow and some of us might be struggling to sleep? Which would be a shame ~ sleep is vital.

And so ~ I offer you : Moon Milk (the extra strong Jupiter Neptune Edition)

Moon Milk is versatile and soothing, from the Ayurvedic tradition. Meant to be savored in the evening, the base of any version will be milk. [any version : oat, almond, coconut or cow, etc]

Warm milk before bed is a time honored remedy for insomnia.

Moon milk can be so very simple ~ just warm milk and honey, or intricate combinations of herbal adaptogens, spices and more.

This version is an extra strong sleep invitation ~ and easy as you can use the “Soothing Caramel Bedtime” tea blend from Yogi as the base. Or ~ gather up similar ingredients. Put 3 teabags into a quart jar and fill it ½ way with boiling water. The main ingredients are California Poppy, Chamomile, Skullcap, L-Theanine Suntheanine and Cardamom Pod.

The tea should steep for a minimum of 10 minutes but longer is better and you’ll be re-heating it anyway!

As bedtime beckons, pour your tea into a saucepan and reheat. Before boiling, add a heaping tsp of Ashwagandha Root powder and whisk briskly. When the Ashwagandha is dissolved, you can add in CBD coconut oil or go straight to the next step.

Honey (to taste) traditional ~ whisk away, still on the flame, and now you are ready for the milk. I add about ¾ of a cup ~ you can use more or less ~ all while whisking and bringing the whole thing to almost a boil.

At this point, I cut the flame and pour the whole wonderful steaming concoction into a mug.

I’ve been sprinkling dried organic rose petals over the top, in gratitude. Rose petals are symbolic of love but also have long been utilized for relaxation. Rose petals have antidepressant, aphrodisiac, cleansing and hypnotic properties, along with the flavonoids and anxiolytic compounds present in Rose, help bring on sound sleep.

A wise woman once told me that dreams are sweetened with rose ~ and it’s true.

Wishing you rest, replenishment and perpetually sweet dreams.
